The highest-earning actor of the previous decade, AKSHAY KUMAR is one of the most successful actors we have today and his success rate speaks volumes about the same. He did a total of 34 Movies in the previous decade out of which 15 were Clean Hits & above. His movies earned a total of 3240 Crores which takes the average to 98 Crores/Film which is quite good considering that he is a part of 3-4 Movies/Year.

All the 4 films - KESARI, MISSION MANGAL, HOUSEFULL 4 and GOOD NEWWZ, became grand-successes at the box-office. The latter three even crossed the 200 Crore Club and Akshay became the first actor who gave three back to back 200 Crore Films in a span of just 140-145 days, which truly is remarkable and magnanimous.
THE MISSES -
Few of his films which failed at the box-office were JOKER, SINGH IS BLIING, BROTHERS, ENTERTAINMENT, BOSS, ONCE UPON AY TIME IN MUMBAAI DOBARA, DESI BOYZ, THANK YOU, PATIALA HOUSE and ACTION REPLAYY. Few of them suffered from a poor story, few of them suffered from poor execution. All of them hence had a poor run at the box-office.
Two of his films which I like very much but didn't work at the box-office are KHATTA MEETHA and PADMAN. Padman didn't work at the box-office due to niche content whereas Khatta Meetha when released, suffered competition from Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. Another reason it didn't work at the box-office was due to the fact that it was perceived to be a comic film from the start to the end but the comic flavor of the film was missing in the second half of the film.
Rest assured, these films were done when at the start of the decade when Akshay used to do most of the comedy films which had a thin storyline. Now, he knows the formula that adding comedy in the films related to social stigma will work at the box-office. His line up looks super-strong and it won't be wrong to say that in the coming years, he will be a force to reckon with considering the content he is giving is simply outstanding.

1. SOORYAVANSHI - Had the Corona Virus not been there, it would have released and crossed the 250 Crores mark easily at the box-office. Now, as Rohit Shetty has said that it will be the first release after the Corona Virus, I feel that either the family audiences will show up at the cinemas in big numbers or they don't come at all. Let's see, it's a wait and watch as of now.
2. LAXXMI BOMB - Another film of Akshay which was coming in May has been delayed. It is said to be the remake of Super Hit film, Kanchana.
3. PRITHVIRAJ CHAUHAN - The next big historic film after Tanhaji, releasing on Diwali by Yash Raj Production. Everyone is having sky-high expectations from this one. I don't think so now that it will release on Diwali because of the pandemic, which has stalled the shooting for this period film.
4. BACHCHAN PANDEY - The Jodi of Farhad Samji and Akshay Kumar, coming after the box-office success of Housefull 4 under the same banner. This one is said to be a remake of another South Indian Blockbuster.
BELL BOTTOM & ATRANGI RE are another two films in the pipeline.

He continued making films that entertained the audiences but the game changed in 2012 where he delivered three big success. One was HOUSEFULL 2, which was a multistarrer and had humourous scenes making it a super hit at the box-office. His next release became a blockbuster and it was ROWDY RATHORE. The Masala Action Film was lauded by the masses and his avatar as a policeman received a monstrous response in theaters. The third Success of that year was OMG: OH MY GOD. This one had a very good message and was one of the first content-oriented films we saw in the decade. Akshay's five releases earned around 400 Crores at the box-office making it one of the biggest anyone had seen to date.
Again came a dry spell which ended in 2014 with the success of HOLIDAY, which touched many hearts and became a running success at the box-office. In 2015, he delivered two mini-successes in the form of BABY & GABBAR IS BACK, both of them being semi-hits at the box-office.
