The Most Energetic Person we have in the industry right now, RANVEER SINGH had a cracking debut in 2010 and from his very first film, he is shining in the industry like no one else and is giving spectacular performances one after the other. He has done a total of 12 Movies to date out of 6 have been clean hits and above. The total collection of his movies stands at 1310 Crores which means an average of 110 Crores approximately which is absolutely fantastic. Let's take a lot at his hits and misses -
THE HITS -
He started his career with BAND BAAJA BARAAT and LADIES V/S RICKY BAHL, both of which did average business at the box-office but were appreciated. One was appreciated for its unique script and the other one was appreciated for some of its scenes(where he conned the women). His first clean hit was RAM LEELA, his first collaboration with SANJAY LEELA BHANSALI. It was the first time where he was paired with his lady luck, DEEPIKA PADUKONE. The movie did excellent business in urban centers and and was praised for its performances, as well as the direction. It was his first 100 Crore Film.
His next film was GUNDAY, a movie which was bashed by the critics and even the moviegoers too gave it mixed reviews due to inaccurate facts and slow screenplay. The movie still did good business due to good chemistry between the actors and because of superhit music and good promos, the movie became a hit in the long run. His next success was BAJIRAO MASTANI, his second collaboration with Sanjay Bhansali and Deepika Padukone. The movie clashed with Dilwale at the box-office which had more hype and hence opened bigger than this period drama. But since Bajirao Mastano carried excellent reports, the game soom changed at the box-office and the movie started receiving good responses all across becoming a BIG HIT at the box-office.
His next became a big Blockbuster and was a box office bonanza for all involved - PADMAAVAT. The movie was his third film with Sanjay and Deepika. The movie became the turning point for Ranveer. The intensity with which he performed the role of Allaudin Khilji, he became a big star overnight. Due to his superior performance, he became the talk of the town and received numerous awards and appreciation.
His next was SIMMBA, a monstrous hit in the masses that worked in the urban centers as well due to a good story and its fantastic execution by ROHIT SHETTY. The movie established Ranveer as the darling of the masses whom the public liked and they whistled and clapped on his antics. The last film he did was GULLY BOY, a film that received extremely positive reviews from the critics and audiences alike and crossed 100 Crore Mark in no time. The movie received accolades in various shows as well.
THE MISSES -
His first flop was LOOTERA, a film which was Indian Adaptation of O Henry's THE LAST LEAF. A gem of a movie directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, it was a pleasant watch. The movie had good songs and very good performances but due to its urban appeal, it didn't do well at the box-office. KILL DIL is another mediocre film in his filmography which failed due to confused writing and poor screenplay. No doubt the movie had good comic scenes and a fantastic performance by Govinda, but no one can save a film if it has a poor script.
He delivered two Average films as well which are DIL DHADAKNE DO and BEFIKRE. Dil Dhadakne Do is a gem of a film depicting the characters of 4 members of a supremely rich family and traces a part of their journey. The movie had fantastic performances, good songs, and a decent story but due to its urban appeal, it didn't work outside the metro cities. Befikre is his poorest film to date I feel. Having a very bad script and filled with overacting, the movie was a complete letdown. But since the director of the film was ADITYA CHOPRA, no one could have said no to the director who has helmed some of the finest films pf Indian Cinema like DDLJ, MOHABBATEIN & RNBDJ.

THIS IS 83 - A biopic of KAPIL DEV , the movie shows the journey of the Indian Team winning the Cricket World Cup in 83. The movie is directed by KABIR KHAN, the director of biggies like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, New York and Ek Tha Tiger. The movie is said to be a big-screen spectacle filled with interesting bits and is said that it will release in theatres only after this pandemic gets over.
JAYESHBHAI JORDAAR - A social comedy about gender equality in Gujarat, the shooting is over and is scheduled to release on 2 October only if the pandemic gets over soon.
